Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Forestry & Paper, Automobiles & Parts and Fixed Line Telecommunications sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Mondi PLC (LON:MNDI), which rose 4.29% or 63.00 points to trade at 1531.00 at the close. Meanwhile, GKN PLC (LON:GKN) added 3.83% or 11.10 points to end at 301.00 and Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) was up 3.67% or 66.00 points to 1867.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tesco PLC (LON:TSCO), which fell 4.07% or 6.6000 points to trade at 155.5000 at the close. Barratt Developments PLC (LON:BDEV) declined 3.27% or 13.700 points to end at 405.300 and EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) was down 2.99% or 30.500 points to 989.500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1088 to 1001 and 417 ended unchanged.

Gold for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.50 to $1327.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.02% or 0.44 to hit $42.69 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $44.92 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.01% to 1.3133, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8367.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.17.
