Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Tourism, Basic Metals and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 4.42% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO), which rose 1.29% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.570 at the close. Meanwhile, Trakya Cam (IS:TRKCM) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 2.230 and Aygaz (IS:AYGAZ) was down 0.18% or 0.02 points to 10.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Albaraka Turk (IS:ALBRK), which fell 10.16% or 0.130 points to trade at 1.150 at the close. Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) declined 9.64% or 0.800 points to end at 7.500 and Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) was down 9.51% or 1.04 points to 9.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 365 to 24 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Albaraka Turk (IS:ALBRK) fell to 3-years lows; down 10.16% or 0.130 to 1.150.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.74% or 9.70 to $1329.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.81% or 0.83 to hit $44.92 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.59% or 0.75 to trade at $46.42 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.54% to 3.0728, while EUR/TRY fell 0.53% to 3.3874.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 97.01.
