Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Sports and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 3.29% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Do-Co (IS:DOCO), which rose 1.69% or 5.40 points to trade at 324.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 21.40 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.220 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bagfas (IS:BAGFS), which fell 10.23% or 1.63 points to trade at 14.30 at the close. Aksa (IS:AKSA) declined 7.77% or 0.75 points to end at 8.90 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was down 7.52% or 0.100 points to 1.230.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 337 to 40 and 34 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aksa (IS:AKSA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.77% or 0.75 to 8.90.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.63% or 8.15 to $1287.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.59% or 1.16 to hit $43.62 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.83% or 0.84 to trade at $44.99 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.53% to 2.8479, while EUR/TRY rose 1.25% to 3.2768.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.41% at 92.91.
