Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Transport and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 3.15% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which rose 3.49% or 0.260 points to trade at 7.720 at the close. Meanwhile, Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) added 3.09% or 0.030 points to end at 1.000 and Metro Holding (IS:METRO) was up 1.92% or 0.020 points to 1.060 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD), which fell 8.20% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.120 at the close. Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) declined 7.59% or 0.060 points to end at 0.730 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) was down 7.01% or 2.34 points to 31.04.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 354 to 28 and 22 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.75 to $1305.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.59% or 0.71 to hit $43.95 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.88% or 0.87 to trade at $45.48 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.04% to 3.1734, while EUR/TRY rose 2.22% to 3.5311.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 97.00.
