Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Sports and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.99% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which rose 14.12% or 0.120 points to trade at 0.970 at the close. Meanwhile, Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) added 2.41% or 0.24 points to end at 10.18 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 1.35% or 0.090 points to 6.740 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ), which fell 8.82% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.620 at the close. Turk Telekom (IS:TTKOM) declined 7.78% or 0.43 points to end at 5.10 and Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) was down 7.14% or 0.050 points to 0.650.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 337 to 44 and 24 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.46% or 5.40 to $1168.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.84% or 1.90 to hit $51.34 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 3.97% or 2.06 to trade at $53.90 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.67% to 3.4951, while EUR/TRY rose 1.90% to 3.7098.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 101.36.
