Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Tourism and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.67% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Bim Magazalar (IS:BIMAS), which rose 3.22% or 1.70 points to trade at 54.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Aselsan (IS:ASELS) added 2.51% or 0.23 points to end at 9.39 and Ayen Enerji (IS:AYEN) was up 2.27% or 0.070 points to 3.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA), which fell 9.55% or 3.66 points to trade at 34.68 at the close. Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) declined 6.73% or 0.79 points to end at 10.94 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was down 6.11% or 0.540 points to 8.300.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 322 to 48 and 34 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 1.00% or 13.35 to $1318.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.17% or 0.53 to hit $45.98 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.56% or 0.73 to trade at $47.39 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.05% to 3.0724, while EUR/TRY rose 0.88% to 3.3820.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 97.19.
