Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Sports, Banking and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.57%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which rose 20.00% or 2.14 points to trade at 12.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) added 20.00% or 0.160 points to end at 0.960 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was up 19.28% or 0.160 points to 0.990 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which fell 4.34% or 0.92 points to trade at 20.30 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) declined 3.70% or 0.150 points to end at 3.900 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) was down 3.59% or 0.74 points to 19.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 316 to 45 and 44 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.16% or 15.65 to $1330.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.85% or 1.37 to hit $46.73 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.88% or 0.94 to trade at $49.02 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.04% to 2.9527, while EUR/TRY fell 0.18% to 3.3252.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 94.76.
