Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Transport, Electricity and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 6.15% or 1.34 points to trade at 23.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Migros Ticaret (IS:MGROS) added 3.35% or 0.57 points to end at 17.56 and Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) was up 2.67% or 0.62 points to 23.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which fell 19.66% or 0.460 points to trade at 1.880 at the close. Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) declined 4.54% or 0.400 points to end at 8.410 and Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) was down 4.16% or 11.30 points to 260.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 282 to 69 and 57 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 19.66% or 0.460 to 1.880.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.07% or 0.95 to $1273.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.27% or 1.15 to hit $49.41 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.27% or 1.18 to trade at $50.77 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.94% to 2.9190, while EUR/TRY rose 0.63% to 3.2943.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 94.38.
