Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Sports, Banking and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.04% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO), which rose 5.10% or 1.62 points to trade at 33.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) added 4.11% or 0.030 points to end at 0.760 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 2.38% or 0.170 points to 7.310 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which fell 12.58% or 0.60 points to trade at 4.17 at the close. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 5.78% or 0.83 points to end at 13.52 and Good-Year (IS:GOODY) was down 4.26% or 5.60 points to 126.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 242 to 92 and 71 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.31% or 3.95 to $1276.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.01% or 1.39 to hit $47.60 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.68% or 1.28 to trade at $49.11 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.10% to 2.9734, while EUR/TRY rose 0.27% to 3.3694.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 94.46.
