Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Insurance, Transport and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.02%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which rose 2.05% or 0.39 points to trade at 19.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Aselsan (IS:ASELS) added 1.86% or 0.20 points to end at 10.95 and Sise Cam (IS:SISE) was up 1.55% or 0.050 points to 3.270 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 6.45% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.290 at the close. Eczacibasi Ilac (IS:ECILC) declined 4.53% or 0.140 points to end at 2.950 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) was down 3.58% or 1.16 points to 31.22.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 292 to 62 and 48 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aselsan (IS:ASELS) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 1.86% or 0.20 to 10.95.
Gold for December delivery was down 2.19% or 26.55 to $1184.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $48.05 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.05 to trade at $49.07 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.89% to 3.4143, while EUR/TRY fell 0.02% to 3.5979.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.77% at 101.87.
