Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Insurance and Food & Beverages sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL), which rose 1.92% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.530 at the close. Meanwhile, Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) added 1.88% or 0.07 points to end at 3.79 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) was up 1.53% or 0.25 points to 16.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Logo Yazilim (IS:LOGO), which fell 8.07% or 4.000 points to trade at 45.540 at the close. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) declined 3.88% or 0.040 points to end at 0.990 and Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) was down 3.72% or 0.74 points to 19.16.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 274 to 79 and 54 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.88% or 0.040 to 0.990.
Gold for April delivery was up 4.93% or 58.90 to $1253.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.04% or 0.28 to hit $27.16 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.27 to trade at $30.57 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.18% to 2.9268, while EUR/TRY rose 0.90% to 3.3283.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 95.39.
