Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Transport and Textile & Leather sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.92% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 4.76% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.220 at the close. Meanwhile, Teknosa IC Ve Dis Ticaret (IS:TKNSA) added 3.91% or 0.220 points to end at 5.850 and Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) was up 3.27% or 0.24 points to 7.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL), which fell 4.17% or 0.190 points to trade at 4.370 at the close. Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS) declined 3.99% or 0.24 points to end at 5.77 and Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) was down 3.36% or 9.40 points to 270.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 215 to 128 and 64 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.37% or 4.75 to $1270.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.87% or 0.40 to hit $45.83 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.37% or 0.65 to trade at $46.95 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.07% to 2.9567, while EUR/TRY fell 0.33% to 3.3684.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 94.06.
