Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Transport, Technology and Real Estate Investments sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 10.18% or 2.60 points to trade at 28.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) added 8.75% or 2.00 points to end at 24.85 and Petkim (IS:PETKM) was up 3.40% or 0.140 points to 4.260 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 4.35% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.230 at the close. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 3.14% or 0.090 points to end at 2.780 and Konya Cimento (IS:KONYA) was down 2.88% or 11.00 points to 371.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 254 to 151 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) rose to 52-week highs; up 10.18% or 2.60 to 28.15. Shares in Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.35% or 0.010 to 0.230. Shares in Petkim (IS:PETKM) rose to all time highs; rising 3.40% or 0.140 to 4.260.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.34% or 4.00 to $1167.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.32% or 1.32 to hit $55.61 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.63% or 1.64 to trade at $60.44 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.28% to 2.6926, while EUR/TRY rose 0.35% to 2.9888.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 96.22.
