Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Sports, Telecoms and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kartonsan (IS:KARTN), which rose 5.88% or 15.40 points to trade at 277.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) added 5.10% or 0.080 points to end at 1.650 and Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) was up 3.95% or 0.10 points to 2.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Good-Year (IS:GOODY), which fell 6.42% or 7.60 points to trade at 110.80 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) declined 4.27% or 0.14 points to end at 3.14 and Aygaz (IS:AYGAZ) was down 3.02% or 0.35 points to 11.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 191 to 142 and 73 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.15% or 1.85 to $1221.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.32% or 0.16 to hit $49.72 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.34% or 0.17 to trade at $49.91 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.08% to 2.9344, while EUR/TRY rose 0.15% to 3.2843.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 95.23.
