Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Electricity, Holdings & Investments and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which rose 20.00% or 0.170 points to trade at 1.020 at the close. Meanwhile, Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) added 14.02% or 5.56 points to end at 45.22 and Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) was up 5.13% or 0.64 points to 13.11 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which fell 3.36% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.300 at the close. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 3.27% or 0.080 points to end at 2.370 and Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) was down 2.71% or 0.360 points to 12.920.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 230 to 120 and 58 ended unchanged.
Shares in Metro Holding (IS:METRO) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 20.00% or 0.170 to 1.020. Shares in Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) rose to 3-years highs; up 14.02% or 5.56 to 45.22.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.80% or 10.15 to $1273.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.13% or 0.57 to hit $49.95 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.22% or 0.63 to trade at $50.83 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.25% to 3.0727, while EUR/TRY fell 0.18% to 3.3458.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 98.74.
