Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Electricity, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Tourism sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which rose 10.80% or 0.760 points to trade at 7.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) added 9.88% or 0.160 points to end at 1.780 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was up 7.95% or 0.140 points to 1.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which fell 8.23% or 1.61 points to trade at 17.96 at the close. Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN) declined 4.12% or 0.070 points to end at 1.630 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was down 3.39% or 0.270 points to 7.690.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 212 to 124 and 71 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.25 to $1318.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.36% or 0.16 to hit $44.02 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.03 to trade at $45.92 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.05% to 2.9750, while EUR/TRY fell 0.09% to 3.3236.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 95.87.
