Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Metal Products & Machinery and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 4.18% or 0.90 points to trade at 22.44 at the close. Meanwhile, Do-Co (IS:DOCO) added 3.83% or 8.50 points to end at 230.50 and Trabzonspor Sportif (IS:TSPOR) was up 2.94% or 0.090 points to 3.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Turk Traktor (IS:TTRAK), which fell 4.28% or 3.60 points to trade at 80.50 at the close. Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) declined 3.56% or 0.490 points to end at 13.270 and Vestel (IS:VESTL) was down 2.60% or 0.190 points to 7.130.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 236 to 103 and 67 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.44% or 6.00 to $1348.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.52% or 0.68 to hit $45.51 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.59% or 0.75 to trade at $48.01 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.54% to 2.9394, while EUR/TRY rose 0.34% to 3.3024.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 94.99.
