Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Leasing & Factoring and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS), which rose 4.49% or 0.320 points to trade at 7.450 at the close. Meanwhile, Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO) added 4.17% or 0.20 points to end at 5.00 and AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) was up 4.07% or 0.050 points to 1.280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vakiflar Bankasi (IS:VAKBN), which fell 3.30% or 0.170 points to trade at 4.980 at the close. Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) declined 2.79% or 0.17 points to end at 5.92 and Celebi (IS:CLEBI) was down 2.53% or 0.80 points to 30.78.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 197 to 141 and 73 ended unchanged.
Shares in Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO) rose to all time highs; rising 4.17% or 0.20 to 5.00. Shares in AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.07% or 0.050 to 1.280.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.57% or 7.10 to $1250.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.68% or 0.30 to hit $44.34 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.90% or 0.41 to trade at $45.99 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.31% to 2.8309, while EUR/TRY rose 0.53% to 3.2060.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 94.37.
