Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Metal Products & Machinery, Transport and Tourism sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Aygaz (IS:AYGAZ), which rose 4.18% or 0.51 points to trade at 12.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) added 3.31% or 0.140 points to end at 4.370 and Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) was up 2.94% or 0.15 points to 5.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Brisa (IS:BRISA), which fell 3.07% or 0.25 points to trade at 7.90 at the close. Petkim (IS:PETKM) declined 2.89% or 0.120 points to end at 4.030 and Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS) was down 2.77% or 0.14 points to 4.92.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 178 to 156 and 79 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aygaz (IS:AYGAZ) rose to all time highs; up 4.18% or 0.51 to 12.70.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.37% or 16.80 to $1240.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.25% or 0.85 to hit $36.90 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.28% or 0.91 to trade at $38.93 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.49% to 2.8567, while EUR/TRY rose 0.47% to 3.2556.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 94.42.
