Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Sports, Transport and Basic Metals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Eczacibasi Ilac (IS:ECILC), which rose 4.75% or 0.140 points to trade at 3.090 at the close. Meanwhile, Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) added 4.02% or 0.31 points to end at 8.03 and Parsan (IS:PARSN) was up 3.25% or 0.300 points to 9.520 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which fell 12.42% or 2.88 points to trade at 20.30 at the close. Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) declined 6.55% or 0.110 points to end at 1.570 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was down 3.57% or 0.010 points to 0.270.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 224 to 102 and 83 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 4.02% or 0.31 to 8.03.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.13% or 1.65 to $1270.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.52% or 0.76 to hit $49.09 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.60% or 0.81 to trade at $49.81 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.47% to 2.8960, while EUR/TRY fell 0.02% to 3.2705.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 93.86.
