Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Food & Beverages and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which rose 4.81% or 0.350 points to trade at 7.630 at the close. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor Sportif (IS:TSPOR) added 3.63% or 0.110 points to end at 3.140 and Deva Holding (IS:DEVA) was up 3.22% or 0.130 points to 4.170 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Brisa (IS:BRISA), which fell 2.17% or 0.15 points to trade at 6.77 at the close. Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) declined 2.00% or 0.38 points to end at 18.65 and Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) was down 1.84% or 0.35 points to 18.66.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 169 to 156 and 79 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.39% or 17.95 to $1305.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.11% or 1.45 to hit $45.22 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.10% or 1.49 to trade at $46.65 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.35% to 3.1224, while EUR/TRY rose 0.88% to 3.4710.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.53% at 97.24.
