Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Transport and Sports sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.28% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Logo Yazilim (IS:LOGO), which rose 4.77% or 2.300 points to trade at 50.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Tupras (IS:TUPRS) added 4.26% or 2.80 points to end at 68.50 and Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) was up 3.50% or 0.61 points to 18.03 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 6.67% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.280 at the close. Metro Holding (IS:METRO) declined 5.56% or 0.050 points to end at 0.850 and Celebi (IS:CLEBI) was down 3.84% or 0.78 points to 19.54.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 258 to 92 and 59 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 1.21% or 14.45 to $1176.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 7.07% or 3.20 to hit $48.43 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 7.52% or 3.56 to trade at $50.88 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.72% to 3.4352, while EUR/TRY rose 0.14% to 3.6363.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.66% at 101.65.
