Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Insurance, Textile & Leather and Tourism sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which rose 8.42% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.030 at the close. Meanwhile, Ayen Enerji (IS:AYEN) added 3.26% or 0.140 points to end at 4.440 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was up 2.63% or 0.060 points to 2.340 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which fell 3.38% or 0.35 points to trade at 10.02 at the close. Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) declined 2.75% or 0.120 points to end at 4.240 and Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) was down 2.27% or 0.20 points to 8.62.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 212 to 128 and 69 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.43% or 5.05 to $1172.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.81% or 0.90 to hit $50.67 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.66% or 0.88 to trade at $53.88 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.93% to 3.4552, while EUR/TRY rose 0.59% to 3.6669.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.97% at 101.25.
