Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Holdings & Investments and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 2.42%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which rose 14.80% or 0.370 points to trade at 2.870 at the close. Meanwhile, Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) added 9.39% or 0.200 points to end at 2.330 and Konya Cimento (IS:KONYA) was up 8.97% or 28.00 points to 340.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 3.70% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.270 at the close. Anadolu Isuzu (IS:ASUZU) declined 3.61% or 0.75 points to end at 20.00 and Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC) was down 2.06% or 0.45 points to 21.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 301 to 106 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Konya Cimento (IS:KONYA) rose to 52-week highs; up 8.97% or 28.00 to 340.00.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.33% or 3.90 to $1190.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.73% or 1.06 to hit $60.20 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.95% or 1.27 to trade at $64.22 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.31% to 2.6815, while EUR/TRY rose 1.45% to 3.0263.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.78% at 95.25.
