Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Metals and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 2.41% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE), which rose 8.41% or 0.780 points to trade at 10.060 at the close. Meanwhile, AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) added 6.32% or 0.060 points to end at 1.010 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) was up 5.27% or 0.250 points to 4.990 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which fell 2.32% or 0.58 points to trade at 24.38 at the close. Trabzonspor Sportif (IS:TSPOR) declined 2.19% or 0.080 points to end at 3.580 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) was down 1.65% or 0.23 points to 13.67.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 258 to 92 and 59 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 1.44% or 19.60 to $1337.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 4.04% or 1.81 to hit $46.57 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 4.24% or 1.96 to trade at $48.21 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.33% to 2.8948, while EUR/TRY fell 0.21% to 3.2062.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 96.46.
