Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Metal Products & Machinery, Electricity and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 2.36% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were AK Enerji (IS:AKENR), which rose 8.11% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Izmir Demir Celik (IS:IZMDC) added 7.08% or 0.17 points to end at 2.57 and Arcelik (IS:ARCLK) was up 5.94% or 1.13 points to 20.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which fell 3.37% or 0.20 points to trade at 5.74 at the close. Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) declined 1.45% or 0.32 points to end at 21.82 and Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) was down 0.76% or 0.010 points to 1.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 251 to 77 and 77 ended unchanged.
Shares in Arcelik (IS:ARCLK) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.94% or 1.13 to 20.16.
Gold for June delivery was down 1.09% or 13.70 to $1247.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.05% or 0.02 to hit $42.19 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.05 to trade at $44.64 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.48% to 2.8476, while EUR/TRY fell 0.44% to 3.2127.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.79% at 94.76.
