Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Technology and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 2.36%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which rose 18.52% or 1.75 points to trade at 11.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) added 7.00% or 1.05 points to end at 16.05 and Bagfas (IS:BAGFS) was up 4.94% or 0.65 points to 13.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adel Kalemcilik (IS:ADEL), which fell 5.18% or 3.75 points to trade at 68.70 at the close. Menderes Tekstil (IS:MNDRS) declined 1.69% or 0.010 points to end at 0.590 and Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) was down 1.49% or 0.010 points to 0.670.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 324 to 77 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) rose to 52-week highs; up 18.52% or 1.75 to 11.20.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.15% or 1.70 to $1161.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.61% or 1.35 to hit $53.00 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 3.41% or 1.95 to trade at $58.99 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.33% to 2.6793, while EUR/TRY fell 0.73% to 2.9569.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 96.72.
