Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Banking and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 2.11%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS), which rose 5.15% or 0.400 points to trade at 8.160 at the close. Meanwhile, Albaraka Turk (IS:ALBRK) added 4.76% or 0.060 points to end at 1.320 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 4.71% or 0.210 points to 4.670 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teknosa IC Ve Dis Ticaret (IS:TKNSA), which fell 3.15% or 0.170 points to trade at 5.230 at the close. Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) declined 2.57% or 0.16 points to end at 6.06 and Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) was down 1.77% or 0.020 points to 1.110.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 272 to 68 and 65 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.32% or 4.35 to $1369.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.55% or 1.04 to hit $41.87 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.16% or 0.93 to trade at $44.03 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.12% to 3.0097, while EUR/TRY fell 0.23% to 3.3542.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 95.66.
