Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Sports, Basic Metals and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.80% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which rose 16.49% or 0.92 points to trade at 6.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) added 15.38% or 0.180 points to end at 1.350 and AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) was up 7.00% or 0.070 points to 1.070 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER), which fell 4.80% or 2.10 points to trade at 41.62 at the close. Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO) declined 2.01% or 0.09 points to end at 4.38 and Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) was down 1.28% or 0.010 points to 0.770.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 251 to 98 and 63 ended unchanged.
Shares in Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) rose to 3-years highs; up 16.49% or 0.92 to 6.50.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.23% or 15.30 to $1259.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.56% or 0.62 to hit $40.34 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.88% or 0.79 to trade at $42.73 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.62% to 2.8314, while EUR/TRY fell 0.54% to 3.2312.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 93.99.
