Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Tourism and Real Estate Investments sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.51%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN), which rose 6.63% or 0.430 points to trade at 6.920 at the close. Meanwhile, Good-Year (IS:GOODY) added 6.15% or 3.55 points to end at 61.25 and Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) was up 5.16% or 0.90 points to 18.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which fell 3.32% or 4.50 points to trade at 131.00 at the close. Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) declined 2.07% or 5.00 points to end at 236.50 and Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) was down 1.68% or 0.030 points to 1.760.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 299 to 106 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 1.89% or 22.30 to $1199.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.28% or 0.17 to hit $60.50 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.14 to trade at $64.02 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.06% to 2.7092, while EUR/TRY rose 0.69% to 3.0918.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 94.03.
