Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Leasing & Factoring and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.45%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Good-Year (IS:GOODY), which rose 20.00% or 18.85 points to trade at 113.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) added 5.68% or 2.80 points to end at 52.10 and AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) was up 5.56% or 0.050 points to 0.950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cimsa (IS:CIMSA), which fell 5.66% or 0.93 points to trade at 15.50 at the close. Konya Cimento (IS:KONYA) declined 2.07% or 7.30 points to end at 345.00 and Aksa (IS:AKSA) was down 1.51% or 0.16 points to 10.46.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 263 to 87 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Good-Year (IS:GOODY) rose to all time highs; gaining 20.00% or 18.85 to 113.10.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.72% or 8.90 to $1228.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.71% or 0.27 to hit $38.55 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.90% or 0.36 to trade at $40.21 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.07% to 2.8396, while EUR/TRY rose 0.36% to 3.2170.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 94.88.
