Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Transport and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which rose 18.06% or 0.260 points to trade at 1.700 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) added 6.81% or 0.44 points to end at 6.90 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) was up 5.63% or 1.98 points to 37.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which fell 4.86% or 0.400 points to trade at 7.830 at the close. Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) declined 2.84% or 0.24 points to end at 8.20 and Izmir Demir Celik (IS:IZMDC) was down 2.74% or 0.080 points to 2.840.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 192 to 130 and 83 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.63% or 1.98 to 37.18.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.14% or 1.75 to $1267.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.16% or 1.05 to hit $49.74 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.91% or 0.97 to trade at $51.84 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.09% to 3.0559, while EUR/TRY fell 0.11% to 3.4224.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 96.22.
