Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Metals and Real Estate Investments sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.99% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which rose 12.09% or 0.330 points to trade at 3.060 at the close. Meanwhile, Good-Year (IS:GOODY) added 4.81% or 3.45 points to end at 75.15 and Vakiflar Bankasi (IS:VAKBN) was up 4.40% or 0.210 points to 4.980 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Soda Sanayii (IS:SODA), which fell 7.55% or 0.530 points to trade at 6.490 at the close. Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) declined 3.51% or 0.27 points to end at 7.42 and Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) was down 3.02% or 1.25 points to 40.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 271 to 132 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) rose to 52-week highs; up 12.09% or 0.330 to 3.060.
Gold for June delivery was up 2.28% or 26.80 to $1201.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.42% or 0.24 to hit $57.39 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.15 to trade at $65.12 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.44% to 2.6749, while EUR/TRY fell 1.27% to 2.9144.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 96.85.
