Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Sports, Banking and Leasing & Factoring sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.96% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 15.12% or 3.10 points to trade at 23.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Eczacibasi Ilac (IS:ECILC) added 6.60% or 0.190 points to end at 3.070 and Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS) was up 6.36% or 5.25 points to 87.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER), which fell 7.36% or 2.95 points to trade at 37.15 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) declined 6.13% or 0.200 points to end at 3.060 and Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) was down 5.26% or 0.060 points to 1.080.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 241 to 160 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 15.12% or 3.10 to 23.60. Shares in Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS) rose to 3-years highs; up 6.36% or 5.25 to 87.85.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.39% or 4.70 to $1222.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.69% or 1.02 to hit $59.48 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.09% or 0.73 to trade at $66.53 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.23% to 2.5976, while EUR/TRY fell 1.16% to 2.9552.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 93.65.
