Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Food & Beverages and Transport sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kartonsan (IS:KARTN), which rose 5.46% or 12.50 points to trade at 241.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) added 4.50% or 0.31 points to end at 7.20 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 4.35% or 0.010 points to 0.230 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which fell 3.90% or 5.50 points to trade at 135.50 at the close. Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) declined 2.58% or 0.25 points to end at 9.43 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) was down 2.52% or 0.65 points to 25.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 220 to 183 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) rose to 5-year lows; gaining 4.35% or 0.010 to 0.230.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.46% or 5.40 to $1175.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.54% or 0.93 to hit $59.52 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.22% or 0.78 to trade at $62.92 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.03% to 2.7334, while EUR/TRY fell 0.06% to 3.0745.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 95.26.
