Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electricity, Holdings & Investments and Basic Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which rose 19.83% or 0.240 points to trade at 1.450 at the close. Meanwhile, Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) added 6.13% or 0.560 points to end at 9.690 and Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL) was up 4.52% or 0.60 points to 13.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Good-Year (IS:GOODY), which fell 5.88% or 0.23 points to trade at 3.68 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.13% or 0.010 points to end at 0.310 and Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS) was down 2.60% or 1.80 points to 67.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 178 to 137 and 95 ended unchanged.
Shares in Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.13% or 0.560 to 9.690.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1287.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.21% or 0.10 to hit $48.39 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.74% or 0.37 to trade at $49.46 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.21% to 2.9284, while EUR/TRY rose 0.08% to 3.2927.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 94.79.
