Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Technology and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 20.87% or 3.35 points to trade at 19.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) added 13.84% or 1.55 points to end at 12.75 and Otokar (IS:OTKAR) was up 5.36% or 4.55 points to 89.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA), which fell 2.09% or 0.95 points to trade at 44.40 at the close. Adel Kalemcilik (IS:ADEL) declined 2.04% or 1.40 points to end at 67.30 and Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) was down 1.84% or 0.20 points to 10.65.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 224 to 174 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 13.84% or 1.55 to 12.75.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.24% or 2.80 to $1162.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.11% or 0.06 to hit $52.72 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.04 to trade at $58.66 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.48% to 2.6654, while EUR/TRY rose 0.58% to 2.9744.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.68% at 96.01.
