Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Sports, Metal Products & Machinery and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 21.00% or 3.15 points to trade at 18.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) added 14.22% or 1.600 points to end at 12.850 and Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) was up 5.97% or 2.25 points to 39.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Konya Cimento (IS:KONYA), which fell 3.25% or 12.50 points to trade at 372.00 at the close. Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) declined 2.99% or 0.020 points to end at 0.650 and AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) was down 2.13% or 0.020 points to 0.920.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 245 to 159 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.14% or 1.70 to $1177.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.96% or 0.56 to hit $58.89 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.65% or 1.02 to trade at $63.03 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.70% to 2.6827, while EUR/TRY fell 1.65% to 2.9886.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 95.56.
