Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Electricity and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Good-Year (IS:GOODY), which rose 19.98% or 22.60 points to trade at 135.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Vestel (IS:VESTL) added 4.63% or 0.260 points to end at 5.870 and Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA) was up 4.37% or 1.72 points to 41.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Konya Cimento (IS:KONYA), which fell 3.77% or 13.00 points to trade at 332.00 at the close. Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS) declined 2.66% or 2.30 points to end at 84.20 and Bim Magazalar (IS:BIMAS) was down 2.01% or 1.25 points to 61.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 188 to 139 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Good-Year (IS:GOODY) rose to all time highs; up 19.98% or 22.60 to 135.70.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.70% or 8.60 to $1237.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.91% or 0.35 to hit $38.67 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.22% or 0.49 to trade at $40.54 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.51% to 2.8211, while EUR/TRY fell 0.04% to 3.2149.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 94.54.
