Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Food & Beverages and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.29% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES), which rose 4.79% or 1.02 points to trade at 22.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) added 2.73% or 0.25 points to end at 9.42 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 2.60% or 0.120 points to 4.740 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which fell 2.71% or 0.37 points to trade at 13.28 at the close. Nurol Gmyo (IS:NUGYO) declined 2.45% or 0.110 points to end at 4.380 and Ayen Enerji (IS:AYEN) was down 2.00% or 0.070 points to 3.430.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 170 to 154 and 81 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.32% or 4.20 to $1328.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.74% or 0.34 to hit $46.02 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.43 to trade at $47.80 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.58% to 2.8945, while EUR/TRY rose 0.04% to 3.2038.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 96.59.
