Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 1.92%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.92%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Hong Yi Fiber (TW:1452), which rose 10.00% or 2.75 points to trade at 30.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Solartech Ener (TW:3561) added 9.87% or 1.15 points to end at 12.80 and Aurotek (TW:6215) was up 9.80% or 1.20 points to 13.45 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Jye Tai (TW:6165), which fell 7.57% or 0.95 points to trade at 11.60 at the close. Transcend Info (TW:2451) declined 6.96% or 6.10 points to end at 81.60 and Nan Ya Pcb Cor (TW:8046) was down 6.37% or 2.00 points to 29.40.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 457 to 387.

Shares in Jye Tai (TW:6165) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.57% or 0.95 to 11.60.

Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.97% or 1.46 to $47.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.59% or 1.40 to hit $52.75 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.87% or 9.90 to trade at $1142.40 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.15% to 32.398, while TWD/CNY rose 0.46% to 0.1971.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.48% at 95.50.
