Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Hannstar Touch (TW:3049), which rose 10.00% or 0.66 points to trade at 7.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Sunko Ink (TW:1721) added 10.00% or 1.20 points to end at 13.20 and Fortune Electr (TW:1519) was up 9.93% or 1.50 points to 16.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cheer Time (TW:3229), which fell 9.80% or 1.70 points to trade at 15.65 at the close. Mbi (TW:1783) declined 9.58% or 2.60 points to end at 24.55 and Yem Chio (TW:4306) was down 8.95% or 1.15 points to 11.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 661 to 179 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cheer Time (TW:3229) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.80% or 1.70 to 15.65. Shares in Sunko Ink (TW:1721) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 10.00% or 1.20 to 13.20.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.06% or 0.03 to $41.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.40% or 0.18 to hit $44.70 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.41% or 15.10 to trade at $1054.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.54% to 32.635, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.1955.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 100.22.
