Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Rubber, Optoelectronic and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.52% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Phytohealth (TW:4108), which rose 9.99% or 3.65 points to trade at 40.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Prime Eltrs (TW:6152) added 9.96% or 0.89 points to end at 9.83 and L&K Eng (TW:6139) was up 9.91% or 2.90 points to 32.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shuttle (TW:2405), which fell 8.32% or 0.89 points to trade at 9.81 at the close. Hsin Ba Ba (TW:9906) declined 7.36% or 1.10 points to end at 13.85 and Favite (TW:3535) was down 6.60% or 0.69 points to 9.76.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 429 to 319 and 100 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for April delivery was up 2.19% or 0.83 to $38.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.80% or 0.72 to hit $40.77 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1273.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.91% to 32.775, while TWD/CNY fell 0.30% to 0.2011.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 96.25.
