Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 rose 1.08% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were AstraZeneca PLC (ST:AZN), which rose 2.72% or 12.7 points to trade at 479.6 at the close. Meanwhile, Boliden AB (ST:BOL) added 2.57% or 6.40 points to end at 255.40 and Lundin Petroleum AB (ST:LUPE) was up 2.55% or 4.60 points to 185.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fingerprint Cards AB ser. B (ST:FINGb), which fell 9.97% or 7.50 points to trade at 67.75 at the close. Electrolux, AB ser. B (ST:ELUXb) declined 1.65% or 3.4 points to end at 203.0 and Nokia Oyj (ST:NOKIA) was down 0.90% or 0.38 points to 41.64.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 283 to 264 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fingerprint Cards AB ser. B (ST:FINGb) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.97% or 7.50 to 67.75. Shares in Boliden AB (ST:BOL) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.57% or 6.40 to 255.40. Shares in Lundin Petroleum AB (ST:LUPE) rose to all time highs; rising 2.55% or 4.60 to 185.10.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.33% or 0.66 to $50.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.13% or 0.60 to hit $53.60 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.40% or 4.70 to trade at $1172.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.60% to 9.6976, while USD/SEK rose 0.63% to 9.1280.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.83% at 101.11.
