Crude oil for February delivery was down 5.14% or 1.60 to $29.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 3.69% or 1.14 to hit $29.74 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.75% or 8.00 to trade at $1081.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.53% to 208.325, while USD/LKR rose 0.50% to 144.470.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 98.97.
