Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Construction & Engineering and Motors sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 2.02% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM), which rose 10.89% or 2.80 points to trade at 28.50 at the close. Meanwhile, F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) added 9.09% or 0.10 points to end at 1.20 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 9.09% or 0.10 points to 1.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN), which fell 23.38% or 3.60 points to trade at 11.80 at the close. Palm Garden Hotels PLC (CM:PALM) declined 23.18% or 7.00 points to end at 23.20 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) was down 23.08% or 600.10 points to 2000.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 206 to 15 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN) fell to 5-year lows; down 23.38% or 3.60 to 11.80. Shares in Palm Garden Hotels PLC (CM:PALM) fell to all time lows; down 23.18% or 7.00 to 23.20.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.98% or 0.37 to $37.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.64% or 0.26 to hit $40.58 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.83% or 10.50 to trade at $1274.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.05% to 205.520, while USD/LKR fell 0.57% to 144.155.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 97.17.
