Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Information Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.95%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW), which rose 22.87% or 148.90 points to trade at 799.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) added 18.75% or 311.00 points to end at 1970.00 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was up 16.45% or 5.10 points to 36.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which fell 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.600 at the close. Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) declined 10.18% or 1.70 points to end at 15.00 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was down 9.09% or 0.10 points to 1.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 152 to 42 and 37 ended unchanged.
Shares in Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) fell to 5-year lows; down 9.09% or 0.10 to 1.00.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.42% or 0.20 to $47.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.64% or 0.31 to hit $48.04 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.83% or 10.35 to trade at $1241.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.04% to 212.850, while USD/LKR fell 0.05% to 146.980.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 95.41.
