Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Services, Information Technology and Diversified Holdings sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which rose 16.67% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. Meanwhile, Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) added 14.72% or 3.40 points to end at 26.50 and Ceylon Leather Products PLC (CM:CLPL) was up 12.52% or 8.90 points to 80.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which fell 18.25% or 12.30 points to trade at 55.10 at the close. Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) declined 18.12% or 11.40 points to end at 51.50 and Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) was down 14.29% or 3.00 points to 18.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 130 to 51 and 34 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) fell to 5-year lows; falling 18.25% or 12.30 to 55.10.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.42% or 0.67 to $26.79 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.07% or 0.33 to hit $30.51 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 2.50% or 29.90 to trade at $1224.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.44% to 208.640, while USD/LKR fell 0.59% to 143.300.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 95.60.
