Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Footwear & Textile and Power & Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 14.83% or 200.20 points to trade at 1550.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) added 14.10% or 197.40 points to end at 1597.40 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was up 13.33% or 0.20 points to 1.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 22.88% or 594.80 points to trade at 2005.30 at the close. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) was down 10.33% or 139.50 points to 1211.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 118 to 77 and 47 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $47.71 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.41% or 0.20 to hit $48.77 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.65 to trade at $1273.55 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.40% to 211.325, while USD/LKR rose 0.07% to 146.590.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 94.53.
