Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Plantations, Healthcare and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.48%.

The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW), which rose 22.87% or 148.90 points to trade at 799.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Elpitiya Plantations PLC (CM:ELPL) added 10.14% or 2.20 points to end at 23.90 and Property Development PLC (CM:PDL) was up 10.00% or 10.00 points to 110.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 19.24% or 500.20 points to trade at 2099.90 at the close. Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) declined 9.78% or 8.80 points to end at 81.20 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was down 8.33% or 0.10 points to 1.10.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 112 to 84 and 52 ended unchanged.

Shares in Property Development PLC (CM:PDL) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 10.00 to 110.00. Shares in Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) fell to 52-week lows; down 8.33% or 0.10 to 1.10.

Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.85% or 0.89 to $47.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 2.23% or 1.09 to hit $47.84 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.55% or 19.75 to trade at $1254.65 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was up 1.04% to 213.240, while USD/LKR rose 0.54% to 146.150.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.27.
